Personable.  Whoever you decide to hire as a confinement nanny should be someone you get along with.  They should be friendly, kind and easy to trust.  Communication is another skill that is imperative to the success of a nanny.  They should be able to let you know what they need, give suggestions and contribute in a manner that makes you understand.

Organized.  A confinement nanny should be someone who is organized.  With a newborn, a new mother and a household to care for, teach and guide there is need for being able to organize and prioritize.  Seeing as there are many tasks in a day needing to be addressed ensuring there is enough time for each item takes forethought and planning.  While being strict is not necessary, someone who is efficient will make everything run smoother.

Patience.  Newborns and new mothers require a fair amount of patience.  Teaching, advising and giving suggestions require a skilled instructor who excels in the art of patience.  Also, dealing with an infant demands a mild and easy going temperament.  Making sure that everything gets done can make for a hectic and tiring day, so someone prone to getting stressed out may not be conducive to this type of work.

Integrity.  It is pretty obvious that you would want someone you trust.  After all, you are entrusting that person with your home and your child.  In this aspect, trust your instincts.  If you feel uncomfortable with a prospective confinement nanny, go with your gut.

Having a baby is an exciting time, but it brings about a new set of responsibilities.  To help new mothers adjust and properly care for their little one, confinement nannies are indispensable.  To find one that works well with and for you does not have to be a difficult task when you know what to look for.  A nanny that is qualified, competent, patient, organized and easy to get along with will be a big help.  Starting out on this new adventure is wonderful and when you have help and guidance you ensure a bright future for your family.
